FIRST GENERATION

1. Edward FOULKE⁽¹⁾ was born on 13 Jul 1651 in Wales. He died on 8 Jan 1744/45 in Gwynedd, PA ?. Bears the coat of arms of Rhirid Flaidd: vert, a chevron inter three wolf's heads erased argent, plus Edwards' is tounged gules.

Resided at Coed y foel in Rhiwlas, Marionathshire. He left there for Liverpool April. 3, 1698, and sailed thence with his wife and nine children, on April 17, in the ship "Robert and Elizabeth". They arrived at Philadelphia July 17, 1698, and settled at Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, where he had purchased 700 acres.

He was married to Eleanor HUGH. Eleanor HUGH ⁽²⁾ died on 16 Mar 1733 in Gwynedd, PA. Originally of the parish of Spytu (sp?) in Denbighshire. Emigrated with husband Edward Foulke & 9 children to Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, 1698. Edward FOULKE and Eleanor HUGH had the following children:

4 iii. Cadwallader FOULKE⁽³⁾ was born on 13 Jul 1691 in Wales.⁽⁴⁾ He died on 17 Jul 1743. Emigrated with his parents from Wales to Gwynedd, PA, 1698.
5 iv. Evan FOULKE⁽⁵⁾ was born before 1698 in Wales. He died in 1745. Emigrated with his parents from Wales to Gwynedd, PA, 1698.
6 v. Gwen FOULKE⁽⁶⁾ was born before 1698 in Wales. Emigrated with her parents from Wales to Gwynedd, PA, 1698.
7 vi. Catharine FOULKE⁽⁷⁾ was born before 1698 in Wales. Emigrated with her parents from Wales to Gwynedd, PA, 1698.
8 vii. Grace FOULKE⁽⁸⁾ was born before 1698 in Wales. Emigrated with her parents from Wales to Gwynedd, PA, 1698.
9 viii. Margaret FOULKE⁽⁹⁾ was born before 1698 in Wales. Emigrated with her parents from Wales to Gwynedd, PA, 1698.
10 ix. Jane FOULKE⁽¹⁰⁾ was born before 1698 in Wales. She died on 7 Aug 1766. Emigrated with her parents from Wales to Gwynedd, PA, 1698.
